The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national-level entrance exam for admissions to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programs offered by 22 National Law Universities in India.
CLAT is organized by the Consortium of National Law Universities, which includes representative universities.
Several affiliate universities and organizations also use the CLAT exam for admissions and recruitment purposes.
All admissions to the 5-year integrated LL.B. and LL.M. programs starting in the Academic Year 2024-2025 will be through CLAT 2024.

Eligibility Criteria
Who can take the CLAT Exam? Understanding the CLAT exam eligibility criteria is essential before completing the CLAT Application Form. You must meet the CLAT exam eligibility to successfully submit the CLAT Application Form 2025.
If you fail to meet the eligibility requirements for CLAT, you will be disqualified from the recruitment process without further notice.
Nationality: According to the previous year's CLAT UG Eligibility Criteria, Indian Nationals, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) are eligible to apply for the CLAT Exam 2025. Foreign nationals can also apply, provided they have a valid passport.
Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for applying for the CLAT Entrance Exam, as per the Consortium's notification.
Educational Qualification: Educational qualifications are crucial for CLAT entrance exam eligibility. To be eligible for CLAT 2025, you must have completed your 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board or university.
General Criteria: Candidates appearing in the 12th standard examination in March/April 2024 can fill out the CLAT Registration Form, provided they meet the CLAT UG eligibility requirements. However, they must submit the result of the 12th standard examination at the time of admission. Failure to do so will result in losing the chance of admission to the desired law school.
