Eligibility Criteria
The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has updated the eligibility criteria for CTET 2024 for candidates pursuing Teacher Training Courses (TTC).
Under the new regulations, candidates currently enrolled in any TTC are now eligible to apply for the CTET Examination. Additionally, candidates whose appointments are under review are also permitted to take the TET exam while continuing their TTC studies.
According to NCTE regulations, candidates with a post-graduate degree must have at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade, along with a three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. course. Candidates must also meet the minimum qualifications specified in the Recruitment Rules for teachers by the relevant government or the Recruitment Rules for Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan or Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.
Passing the CTET does not automatically guarantee an appointment. The CTET serves solely as a qualifying exam, and final eligibility for teaching positions will be determined by the appropriate authority.
