IBPS RRB Eligibility 2024

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released the eligibility criteria for the IBPS RRB 2024 exam. Candidates with a graduation degree can apply, provided they meet all specified requirements. The exam is conducted to select candidates for the positions of Officers Scale 1, 2, 3, and Office Assistant (Multipurpose).

Key Dates:

• Prelims Exam: August 3, 4, 10, 17, and 18, 2024.
• Single Online Exam for Officers Scale 2 and 3: September 29, 2024.
• Mains Exam for IBPS RRB PO: September 29, 2024.
• Mains Exam for Office Assistant: October 6, 2024.

Nationality Requirements:

• Indian citizens, subjects of Nepal or Bhutan, or Tibetan refugees who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India.
• Persons of Indian origin who have migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries, and other specified nations with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided they have a certificate of eligibility from the Government of India.

Age Limits (as of June 1, 2024):

• Office Assistant (Clerk): 18-28 years (born between June 2, 1996, and June 1, 2006).
• Officer Scale I: 18-30 years (born between June 3, 1994, and May 31, 2006).
• Officer Scale II: 21-32 years (born between June 3, 1992, and May 31, 2003).
• Officer Scale III: 21-40 years (born between June 3, 1984, and May 31, 2003).

Age Relaxation:

• SC/ST: 5 years
• OBC: 3 years
• PWD: 10 years
• Ex-Servicemen: Varies by post and service rendered
• Widows, Divorced Women, and legally separated women: 9 years

Candidates applying for age relaxation must provide the necessary certificates during the interview (Officers Scale) or document verification (Office Assistant).

Educational Qualifications:

• Office Assistant: Graduation in any discipline, proficiency in local language, and computer knowledge.
• Officer Scale I: Graduation in any discipline (preference for specific degrees), proficiency in local language, and computer knowledge.
• Officer Scale II (General Banking Officer): Graduation with a minimum of 50% marks and 2 years of experience as an officer in a bank or financial institution.
• Officer Scale II (Specialist Officer): Relevant degree with 50% marks and specific work experience for each specialization (e.g., IT Officer, Law Officer).
• Officer Scale III: Graduation with a minimum of 50% marks and 5 years of experience as an officer in a bank or financial institution.

Language Proficiency:

• Proficiency in the local language is required for Officers Scale I and Office Assistant positions. Candidates who do not meet this requirement at the time of selection will have six months from the date of joining to acquire proficiency.

Eligibility for Persons with Disabilities (PwD):

• Candidates with a disability of not less than 40% certified by a Medical Board can apply. This includes:
  • Visually Impaired: Total blindness or severe visual limitations.
  • Deaf and Hearing Impaired: Significant hearing loss.
  • Orthopedically Challenged: Locomotor disability or cerebral palsy with a minimum of 40% impairment.

Guidelines for Scribes:

• Candidates with visual impairment or affected writing speed can use a scribe. They must arrange their own scribe and both must provide an undertaking confirming the scribe's eligibility. Compensatory time of 20 minutes is allowed.

Candidates must ensure all qualifications and documents are in order and accurately reported, as required by the IBPS guidelines.
